I've known about Youtube...so I'm having fun with Web 2.0 Tools
I know politics and work don't mix..but I'm the controversial type (pleaase no hard feelings):
Library 2.0: My Thoughts
Though other people have said this:
"The key principles of Library 2.0 are not just about access to books and information. It is about innovation, about people, and about community building, enabled through the participation that social computing brings."
...and this:
"It achieves this through trust and encouraging users to share ideas through writing, rating, and commenting against everything in the library's collection. It even makes the collection open to developers to use, re-use and improve!"
I think Library 2.0 is this:
An outlet for all librarians and users to communicate effectively, bringing us further into the future. It is a way to keep libraries up-to-date with technology.

Del.icio.us is COOL.
It's interesting to see what I can do with this tool. By simply placing key words I can find not only the subject at hand, but other related subjects to reinforce my thoughts.
This is a very useful tool in research - expecially as a student.

Wki! Wiki! Wiki!
So i've experienced the Wiki craze, and so far it's not that bad. very simple to use. In fact, a department I will not name (smiles), is creating a wiki for departmental use in order to keep track of the goals achieved in the Stragic Plan!
WOW! Wiki's are fun!, now i know why so many people like Wikipedia...however unreliable, are enjoying the loads of information that is edited in there....it's COOL, we have the able to MANIPULATE the past, present, and hmmm the FUTURE....perhaps I'll hop on the Wikipedia ride and marry Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp and "Brangelina" becomes non-existent...

What do you like about RSS and newsreaders?
RSS Newsreaders allow me to keep all my information and favorite sites in one place - organized. I can view whichever ones I want when I want them, and the information on each site is automatically refreshed!
How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your work or personal life?
In work, we can have our blogs posted up on the RSS feed site particularly bloglines, it's quick, organized and easy.
How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this new technology?
Simple. Post up information about your library and have access to other libraries to compare and contrast offerings. this could be great for InterLibrary Loans as well.

The Flickr Exercises begin...
The usage of Flickr enables me to post up my great pictures and have working with different frames!
From the beginning
To begin this learning 2.0 experience, I must blog about the eccentricities of this wonderful virtual world! NSUTLC 2.0 is going to a fun-filled adventure that I can do on WORK TIME! Imagine, playing around while learning...why haven't we done this sooner?!
